Modern Frankfurt - Sights in the Banking District

Frankfurt is a metropolis that is particularly influenced by the banks and the financial world - so there are also some sights in the banking district that are worth a visit.

Euro Sculpture

The sculpture on Willy Brandt Square is a € sign with stars and is actually a neon sign created by Ottmar Hörl. The 15 metre higsculpture was erected here before the European Central Bank moved from the city centre to Ostend.

Distance from the hotel approx. 14 km

The European Central Bank moved into the unmistakable double tower in Ostend, which can already be seen from afar and stands strikingly in Frankfurt's skyline.

MAIN TOWER

If you are looking for a view over Frankfurt and the Taunus, you should visit the Main Tower.

The tower was completed in 1999 and was at that time the only high-rise building that was open to the public. The viewing platform at a height of 200 metres offers you a unique view of Frankfurt's skyline.

Hessische Landesbank is at home in the Main Tower.

Please note that the observation deck can be closed due to weather conditions.

Distance from the hotel approx. 15 km

Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m.

Frankfurt Stock Exchange

Did you know why often a bull and a bear are to be found in front of stock exchanges?

The bull stands for the buyers of securities who want to drive the price upwards - because the bull also strikes with his horns when he attacks from below upwards. The bear, on the other hand, stands for those sellers who are afraid that the price will fall and want to sell quickly - because the bear beats with his paws when he attacks from top to bottom.

Near the New York Stock Exchange stands the most famous bull in the world, but even here in Frankfurt one can be found and even has company through a bear.

The two sculptures in front of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange were erected on the forecourt of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in 1985 to mark its 400th anniversary. Today they are probably one of Frankfurt's most popular photo models.
